{"id":1684,"date":"2021-02-08T15:16:33","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T15:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.advanced-blast.com\/?p=1684"},"modified":"2021-02-08T15:16:33","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T15:16:33","slug":"interest-grows-in-our-land-vehicle-protection-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asst-technologies.com\/index.php\/2021\/02\/08\/interest-grows-in-our-land-vehicle-protection-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Interest Grows in our Land Vehicle Protection System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advanced-blast.com\/interview-by-forces-tv\/\">interview by Forces TV<\/a> we have continued to receive a growing amount of interest in our Land Vehicle Protection System; including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenceprocurementinternational.com\/features\/land\/abbs-anti-ied-system-could-prove-a-major-tipping-point-in-protecting-vehicles\">an article in Defence Procurement International<\/a> and approaches from both the Pentagon and UK MOD who are considering a joint funding exercise to further develop the technology.<\/p>\n<p>With the ability to retrofit our solution and proven ability to allow a lightweight snatch land-rover to survive a mine blast test; our innovative approach has proved both popular and a discussion point amongst armed forces personnel.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ABBS Protection Systems\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SbKkWfpa6-c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Our range of protective measures include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VGAM\u2122 &#8211; Vehicle Global Acceleration Mitigation \u2013 patented Linear Rocket Motors (LRM\u2122) counteract mine blast lifting forces to prevent the vehicle being blown into the air.\u00a0 These rockets fire within a few milliseconds of a mine blast, counteracting the lifting forces generated by a mine or IED and pushing the vehicle down to keep it grounded.<\/li>\n<li>VAFS\u2122 &#8211; Vehicle Active Floor System \u2013 actuators pull the floor away from occupant\u2019s feet to prevent Floor Shock injuries by ensuring that they are not in contact with the floor.<\/li>\n<li>CRBP &#8211; Composite Reinforced Belly Plate \u2013 a special bellly plate comprised of both steel and composite materials to minimise deformation and reduce impulse transferred to the vehicle, without needing a deep V shaped hull.\u00a0 This builds on our CEO (Roger Sloman)&#8217;s materials expertise &#8211; he was the person who introduced the concept of carbon-fibre chassis to Formula One racing cars in the 1970s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are excited to see that finally our aim of providing Technology that Saves Lives is now being recognised on a global scale.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following the interview by Forces TV we have continued to receive a growing amount of interest in our Land Vehicle Protection System; including an article in Defence Procurement International and approaches from both the Pentagon and UK MOD who are considering a joint funding exercise to further develop the technology.
